Members of the RHSO String Quartet will present a concert for the school and parents, featuring a program of varied music for all ages from the wealth of musical literature for string quartet. The quartet will also conduct a curriculum-based residency at the school, culminating in a concert featuring students and quartet members for the school and parents.
Our Conductor, David Rudge, offers workshops in Creative Improvisation for orchestra students. Maestro Rudge is the Director of Orchestras and Opera at the State University of New York. As a violinist and educator, he also teaches Free Improvisation there and for Music for People. He is founder of the Improv. Collective, a unique performing ensemble dedicated to free improvisation for self-expression. He will be bringing this valuable liberating approach to music making into the schools with special workshops.
Our Conductor and members of the RHSO will conduct workshops and master classes for all instruments, focusing on advanced techniques designed to enhance and refine the student's present level of performance. This will lead up to a District-wide Orchestra day, in which students from area orchestra programs will join together for a concert with Maestro Rudge.
100% of your contribution will be used to help fund and expand our educational outreach programs. Please indicate "Targeted Sponsorship: Educational Outreach" in the memo line.
