Bringing the very best from Manhattan in New York City to Rock Hill, SC without even having to leave home! Soloist Anne O'Byrne helps bring this fun and upbeat program to life. RHSO will have you singing along with Steven Schwartz, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Richard Rodgers with music from Wicked, Phantom Of the Opera, A Chorus Line, Carousel, and more!

“With fag dangling from the corner of her mouth, Anne O'Byrne sang her aria with style, spirit and convincing coloratura”. Opera Magazine (UK). Singers don't often perform with a cigarette glued to their lips, but Anne relishes the more fun aspects of performing!
Soprano Anne O’Byrne hails from Dublin, Ireland, where as a young singer, she joined the Irish Radio Choir, broadcasting weekly on national radio. She gained scholarships to attend the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England, before embarking on a career in opera and concert which has taken her all over the world.
Anne has sung over twenty leading opera roles and has performed for luminaries including Presidents, Prime Ministers and Royal families. She has worked with renowned conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle and Sir Andrew Davis; and with famed producers Sir Jonathan Miller and Sir Trevor Nunn. In 2002 she moved to the United States with her husband David Fisk (CEO of the Charlotte Symphony) and their two children.
Ms. O'Byrne has taught voice for over 25 years, including at University of Richmond and GreenSpring International Academy of Music, Richmond, and has a thriving Voice Studio in Charlotte. Many of her students are top prizewinners in national competitions and have followed Anne’s lead by also performing in venues like Carnegie Hall.
Anne is delighted to be performing here today with the Rock Hill Symphony in this fun concert!
